Short bio

I am a Syrian researcher based in London. I have a PhD in Politics from the Department of Politics at Birkbeck, University of London, and a master’s degree in Middle East politics from the University of Exeter with Distinction. Previously, I studied politics at the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Damascus. My research interests are centred on modern political Islamic thought and radical Islamism. I am particularly interested in studying processes of framing in social movements, focusing on Salafi-Jihadism and its recent discursive and strategic transformations.
